History

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester was founded over a century ago with a mission to build a just and compassionate society to advance the dignity of all people.

We have grown into a powerful advocate for social justice; without ceasing, our programs have evolved to provide more emphasis on addressing the barriers that prevent people from moving to self-sufficiency in today’s environment.

Today we serve our neighbors across the 12-county Rochester Diocese through six divisions with over 70 program sites.
